Symbolism of waters in Veda

- Sukarma Pal Singh Tomar

(A thesis accepted by Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, 1995)

Word meaning of Kabandha is - bound with 'ka' . At grosser level, this ka is Indra related with mortal soul . At universal level, this is Indra related with God. Hence, from individual point of view, Kabandha means one bonded with soul/Indra.  Kabandha can be called that original water of life which is the source of life oceans at three stages - gross body level, ethereal level and causal level. In trance, this Kabandha becomes the source of honey which is milked by different veins of the body. One hymn of Rigveda presents a complete picture of this Kabandha at different levels.
